Guide step by step


Please note: In order to connect onto the Remote Desktop Server you will need to successfully connect onto the VPN Client. 


- Load AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and type the following: vpn.designmuseum.org and click Connect


- Enter your full email address in the Username tab along with your Password then proceed by clicking OK


- The following message is normal so simply click OK. You are now connected to the


- You will see that you are connected onto the VPN Client.



- Open Microsoft Remote Desktop and type the following in PC name: DESRDS03.design.local and click Save


- Double click the DESRDS03.design.local and a box will display asking to input your credentials


- Username will be firstname.surname@designmuseum.org followed by your password and click Continue


- Click Continue on this box regarding to trust the certificate


- You will have connected onto the Remote Desktop Server. Please make sure that you sign off every time you are not using the Server. If you do not know how to do so then contact IT for assistance.



Possible Fixes for not connecting onto RDS


- Ensure that the VPN (AnyConnect) Client is connected. If you still cannot connect onto the Remote Desktop Server then Disconnect from the VPN and connect back onto it. 

- Close the Microsoft Remote Desktop application and re-open this. 


- Check your internet in or outside work and see if you are able to access different websites.
