NB: When making an external call, you will need to press “9” before entering the first digit of the phone number. 

 

Remember to logout at the end of each day! You will need to press “Logout” twice to do this!

To turn the headset on or off, press the button to the left of “Headset” on the phone’s screen. If the headset is on, that light will be red. If the headset is off, that light will be off. 


All phones in the Design Museum act as a hot-desk device so you can log into any that has a Mitel brand on them. Follow the steps below on how to log into a phone:


  • How to log-in
    1. Press “Hot Desk” 
    2. Press “Login”
    3. Enter your extension and press “OK”
    4. Enter your extension and press “OK” again!

 

  • How to check for messages
    1. You will know that you have a message when the phone is flashing red.
    2. Press the Message icon to enter the answer machine.

 

 

 

 

  1. The access code is “1234” by default (You can change this ). 
  2. Press “7” to play all messages.
  3. Press “5” to save a message.
  4. Press “3” to delete a message.
  5. Press “6” to hear an automated recital of the number of the person who left the current message – this is useful when they do not leave a number or you can’t hear it clearly in a message.
  6. Press "8" to progress to an edit menu for your voicemail-from here you can press "4" or "6" to record a new greeting or name for your voicemail.
  7. Remember to delete all old messages regularly!

 

  • How to transfer messages
    1. NB: this method only works when the headset is off!
    2. It is always a good idea to note down the caller’s number before attempting to transfer them, just in case you happen to disconnect them!
  1. Press the Transfer icon.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Enter the number of the person to whom you wish to transfer the call.
  2. Once they have picked up, you can put the phone down!
     
  • How to hold messages
  1. Press the Hold icon.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. If someone is holding for a long while, the phone will start to ring and display their number. Do not worry – this is normal!
